The form to obtain your no cost permit will be uploaded soon under the same tab, City Forms.

Interested in something reminiscent of days gone by? Why not consider purchasing a decommissioned street sign from Houston!

The city will be offering street name signs which have been recently replaced. Some have embossed letters while others do not. The signs are being offered on a first come, first served basis for

$20 each. If you are interested, please drop off a list of street names you would be interested in along with your name and phone number. As time permits, staff will go through the signs and pull those listed and call you once your "order" is ready for pickup.

If there is a specific street name of interest, we encourage you to put in your request early since requests are filled on a first come first served basis.

We do not have a listing complied yet, but we will be preparing one so check back.

There will be a street and utility project taking place in Houston in 2026. To learn more about this project, click on the Project tab and the link titled "2025 street & Utility Improvements".
